Hello my lovelies,

I hope you’re all well and having a pleasant week so far!

For today’s blog post I wanted to share with you one of my greatest hair styling finds, the Diamond Flat Iron by Irresistible me.

If you have been following my blog and Instagram for a while, you will know that I have super unruly curly hair, with an absolute temperament of its own. There are certain days of tight, perfectly curled ringlets – that’s if I mix up the perfect concoction of hair styling products (which I haven’t quite managed to get the hang of yet – I rely solely on trial and error, sigh), whereas other days, my hair will be completely out of control and entirely unmanageable. There’s honestly no way to foresee how my hair will turn out after stepping out of the door.

Although I adore my natural hair, the constant maintenance can be rather burdensome and so I like to change things up, and opt for a sleek do’ instead which is easier to maintain and style. So when Irresistible Me very kindly approached me to review their best-selling straightener, I, of course, jumped right at the chance – who would be silly enough to say no?

Below is the specification of the straightener as seen on their official website:
  •    360° mobile cord that swivels around following your every move
  •  a thumb print and cool tips for a steady grip and to avoid burning your fingers
  •  all buttons are on the inside so you don't accidentally change the settings
  •  shuts down automatically in 30 minutes
  •  gets hot (450F/230C) really fast, in up to 15 seconds
  •  intelligent heat display that lets you see the temperature all the time
  •  it is super light and comes in a beautifully designed box with magnetic closing that you can use to store it
  •  it automatically changes the temperature display to Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on the supplied voltage, making it perfect for travelling
  • the 1'' floating plate self-adjusts, eliminating any pressure points, so that the iron can work through your hair smoothly without pulling

The flat iron has ceramic plates and new diamond and tourmaline technology which is claimed to help protect the hair by preserving all natural hair oils, thus leaving the hair healthy, shiny and frizz free.
I have been on the quest for healthy hair for the last year (my poor hair has suffered irreparable damage due to extensive use of heat over the years), so I typically try to avoid any heat for as often as I can. However, when I do eventually give in, I would like to think that I have done everything in my power to ensure as little damage as possible.
My hair has come such a long way over the last few months that it would be a shame to then take so many steps back. For this reason, when I do use any hot tools, I like to ensure that they have preventative measures to help impede hair damage, which is exactly what the Diamond straightener claims to do.

The straightener itself is fantastic - it heats up in a matter of 20secs tops! What’s great, and something that I have not seen on a flat iron previously is that whilst heating up, it gives you a real-time temperature conversion on the digital display while warming up to your desired temperature.

In order to ensure that my curly hair is pin straight, I part my hair into small sections and glide the flat iron from root to tip twice. A brush or comb help to ensure that there are no flyaway's and helps to prevent any breakage by removing any clumps or knots.

Another great feature of this straightener is its weight – it’s practically feather light! All of my past straighteners have been comparably heavier, whereas the Diamond straightener saves me from the arm cramping at the end of the hair styling – phew!

I have honestly been blown away – it is by no surprise that this flat iron has received so many positive reviews! The Diamond straightener is currently on sale HERE at a bargain price of $97 (approximately £77), so if you are stuck on what to gift someone for Christmas, this would be the perfect present! I honestly cannot recommend it enough. In my opinion, it is up there with the likes of GHD. It has completely surpassed my expectations!

Lots of Love,
Ana

Hello my lovelies,

Today is going to be a super quick post of an OOTD that was worn a couple of weeks ago during a gorgeous hot summer day here in London.

The pattern of the dress is such a statement in itself, that there was no need for heavy jewellery or bold accessories. Strappy sandals proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the flowy dress, as well as a simple watch and an oversized handbag where I was able to store away a light cardigan - in the case of a chilly evening.

Dress - Zara
Heels - JustFab
Rose gold watch - Gucci
Handbag - Michael Kors
Aviators - Mango

Wishing you all a pleasant end to the weekend!

Lots of love,
Ana

How I plan my blog posts

I’ll be honest – I’m not the most organised person in the world. Frankly, I’m not organised at all. But occasionally when I have a big blog project coming up, I have to put the habitual laziness aside and garner the energy to plan and prep ahead in order to ensure that the final outcome is somewhat of a satisfactory standard. Granted, a lot of procrastination and dilly-dallying is typically involved - not gonna’ lie.
If you are somewhat lost on how to get started on your next blog project, hopefully, the following points will be somewhat helpful with your planning:

 1.
Take a step back and put your ideas on paper by creating a mind map. This allows you to brainstorm in a logical fashion by putting all of your ideas into perspective. Everything and anything that pops into my head that is relevant to the project, I always note down; even if it seems irrelevant at the time, it may serve a purpose at a later date.

Tip: Inject some colour into your annotations and doodles to make the whole process a little less boring – I love my bright markers, highlighters, post-its and smelly pens! Being organised is all about having strawberry scented scribbles.

  2. In order to get my creative juices flowing, I typically like to scan through my collection of magazines and cut out any outfits or fashion features that are currently trending. I then use these cut-outs to create a mood board, and I will use this collage to inspire me with an upcoming post.

Tip: If you don’t have the time or patience to create one yourself, Pinterest is a great alternative. You can save pictures under multiple themed boards and come back to them as often as you like for inspiration.

  3.
I like to anticipate every scenario that may potentially affect my work. For example, as a blogger, I always have to take the weather into consideration for photography shoot purposes, therefore I have to religiously check the weather forecast. Other important variables to consider are memory card space, camera battery and shoot settings and locations.
anasofiachic, beauty blogger, fashion blogger, lifestyle blogger, british blogger, review, planning, blog planning, post planning, makeup blogger, how to be a blogger, flatlay4. Research, study and practice! I cannot tell you the number of times where I felt frustrated and wanted to retire as a blogger because I felt my work was not comparable or nowhere near as good as that of other bloggers.  However, I have learned to go out there and ask for advice from other experts in the field. I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by many talented people who are happy to help and the patience to teach. From photography to photo editing, to video taking and move processing, I have reached out to many people and the tiniest bit of advice has always been invaluable.

Although I still have a long way to go, I can already notice a significant difference from when I first started, and I know that over time I will just continue to get better and better (or so I hope so!).

Hello my lovelies,

I hope you're all well and looking forward to the upcoming weekend!

Following on from my previous post a couple of weeks back where I shared how I would rock the latest trend, innerwear- as- outerwear (if you missed the post, you can check it out HERE), I thought that for today's post it would be fun to bring you an alternative way to style the slip dress. This time around, I was aiming for a slightly more relaxed and casual outfit that could be comfortably worn throughout the daytime, without any hesitancy or second thought upon stepping out the door (this is for you ladies that perhaps found the ensemble from the previous post slightly too daring). Although the look has been dressed down, it is still exquisitely feminine and chic nevertheless.

On this occasion, I teamed up a silk chemise with lace trim detailing, with an oversized fine knit jumper and a pair of black strappy kitten heels (FYI these are super comfy and can be worn day to night!). I skipped the jewellery but accessorised the look with a pair of rose gold aviators.

Lace Trim Dress - Zara (similar

Lose Fishnet Jumper - New Look (similar HERE)
Kitten Heels - Just Fab (similar

Sun glasses - Mango (similar

What do you think of today's post? Will you be rocking the slip dress this Summer?
Lots of love, Ana

Hello lovelies,

I hope you’re all well and having an enjoyable weekend!

While I am presently busy working on bigger blog projects (soon to be revealed!), I thought in the meantime I would share an old OOTD, back when I was still a brunette and ghastly pale.

The great thing about this dress is that it's super easy to wear! Due to its funky pattern and quirky draping shape, I can throw it on with minimal accessories and instantly hit the streets. There’s no need for statement jewellery – I let the dress be the centre of attention. I love the exaggerated bell sleeves and open back (not featured unfortunately!), and how it’s super breezy and floaty – just perfect for those hot summer days.

Dress- Mango
Bracelets – Zara
Flats- Zara
Purse - Fendi

Lots of love, Ana
